Balance, Balance, Balance

With this Summer weather coming in, we are breaking out the shorts, sun dresses, and swim suits. It is so incredibly exciting! I don’t know about any of you but this past winter was a little rough on me physically and mentally. So, a few weeks ag

o I set some goals to get myself into my best state. And while it has been hard, I’ve found that doing some simple things daily can have such a dramatic effect in the long run. I am sure that my parents and many other wise individuals have told me this repeatedly and I am only starting to listen now. But isn’t that how we often learn.

The city of Vienna comes alive this time of year. I found out that Adidas has a boat on the river with a tennis court and a pool! How cool is that? There are summer concerts and outdoor operas and streets crawling with various markets and events. I love it! There are even various swimming holes by the river and just outside the city. My soul feels so nourished.

And good feast for the soul is what we all need sometimes. It is important to take a step back from the hustle and bustle and take time. For me, this includes stepping away from my phone and computer, spending time with my people, and refocusing on what’s important. I have especially noticed a difference from the days when I exercise.

The mind, body, and spirit are so connected. It is all about finding that sweet spot between the three, which is a lifelong struggle. Everyday we have to do things to keep these three in balance. I am far from perfect at this, however I am trying my best to get them better in balance this summer.

Here’s a list of ideas to find more balance in your life:

- Go on a walk

- Talk to a friend

- Read your favorite book

- Find a new hobby

- Journal

- Do genealogy

- Take a new class

- Learn a new skill

- Talk to someone new

- Yoga

- Train for a 5K, 10K, half marathon, or marathon

- Rise early, go to bed early (Still working on that one ;) )

- Watch the sunrise/sunset with friends

- Drink LOTS of water

- Eat whole foods

- But also treat yourself ;)
