London, England

Yeah , my London trip was a good while ago buuuut better late than never right?? I have to admit, it was one of the best times I have had in London. I have actually been twice in the last two months, once with my hubby and once with my mom. I’ll include recommendations from both trips, especially food wise, because holy delicious food! Consider my face fully stuffed every single day.

From the moment we knew we were going to London, Oliver started looking for restaurants. He had a full list within a day. The best one was an Israeli barbeque place called Berber and Q. Twas unbelievably fantastic. I seriously wanted everything on the menu. We ended up sharing the Isreali breakfast even though I was extremely tempted by the pancakes. But adding to the food, was the atmosphere. It’s located outside of downtown and in a little back alley that you wouldn’t even notice normally. Which adds to the gem it truly is. I highly highly recommend you put it on your restaurant list.
On the opposite end of the back alley spectrum rests the Ritz. My mom made it her personal mission to find the best afternoon tea experience (which included scones and clotted cream of course) and The Ritz had very high reviews (obviously). Little did I know, how strict the dress code was. Yes, I said dress code. No jeans. No casual shirts. Men must wear suit coats. It’s a pretty hoity toity affair. Granted a really fun and delicious affair. I and my mom had done our best to follow those rules while still remaining comfortable because we had no desire to go all the way back to our hotel in the middle of the day just to change. But we had on nice slacks and what I thought, were appropriate shoes. They were “fashun” trainers. This was not executable to the guy who gave you a once-over before going in. Luckily, they have shoes you can rent (which tells me, this is a fairly often occurrence) BUT they only take cash. Who only takes cash?? Europe. That’s who. Well we had to run and I mean run out of the hotel, asking directions to the nearest ATM, which either did not exist or the person had no idea what they were talking about, and get cash. After finally finding one (which was right across the street, in plain view, in front of the hotel by the way), we booked it back and made it with literally one minute to spare. And the scones were definitely worth it.
The activity that preceded this, was actually once-in-a-lifetime. We had time to spare before our reservation and decided to take a walk down to Buckingham Palace since it was so close. We got

lucky because it was not crowded. The weird thing was that the gate was open and Police officers were standing in front of it. But nothing was happening! And then after about ten minutes of waiting we saw the mail truck come up and thought all the hubbub was just for him! Kind of a let down. AND THEN, The Queens car, her actual car, with her INSIDE pulled out!!! We saw the actual Queen of England!! She wore a purple coat with a matching hat and I am still shook. So how’s that for a once-in-a-lifetime event?? (Don't have photographing evidence on my phone. Ask my mo for proof ;) )
I am so truly obsessed with everything about London. There are not enough words to describe it. Magic is literally around every corner. (Thanks JK Rowling ;) )
