There’s nothing better than cuddling up with a fuzzy blanket, a cozy drink, and a book on a chilly autumn day. It’s one of my personal guilty pleasures. As fall is a time of both coziness and a start to the new school year for some, the fall reading list has some educational vibes.

The Glass Castle

This is one of the most eye-opening books I have ever read. It’s the antithesis of how I grew up so I couldn’t help but feel so many feelings while reading her story. We follow Jeannette growing up in a less than ideal situation and her slowly realizing just how twisted her family relationships were. She tries to find a balance of loving them but supporting herself.

Little Women

One of my favorite stories of all time (minus the ending…although Louis Garrel made it a little better). It’s the cozy homey vibes we all need during this time of year.

The Coddling of the American Mind

Everyone needs to read this book in their lifetime. The authors talk about becoming antifragile in our ways of thinking and in the ways we raise the future generation. So good. I don’t care if you are American or not, the principles apply worldwide.

The Love Hypothesis

Alright, I always need to throw in a contemporary romance. And since we are going for all the back-to-school fall vibes, I must recommend this STEM gem. (sorry if you’re on bookstagram cause you’ve been bombarded with this one for a year lol) Basically, I just love Adam and Olive and it’s such an easy story to fall in love with.

The Nightingale

Ok. This is a modern-day classic in my book. I love a good well-written historical fiction story. And this one follows two French sisters during the German occupation. While the sisters themselves are fictional the stories that have been compiled by the author are real.

I like the keep these lists short so it’s not overwhelming. Let me know if you read any of these! One of my favorite things to do is talk about books. Happy pre-fall and I hope you get a chance to curl up with a good book.
